Demonic Traits

Ravana is a type of demon which has an immense hunger for meat and blood, and is particularly drawn to human flesh. While he can go without eating for a while without dying, it weakens him progressively, eventually resulting in his body going into a near-comatose state. Bringing someone within grabbing range of him at that point will result in him entering a food frenzy - a last-ditch rush of adrenaline where all functions that don't assist with eating are shut down and he will violently and aggressively assault and attempt to consume them.

While tame animals are nervous around him and prefer to avoid him, wild animals seem almost absurdly fond of him. Ravana himself doesn't like or dislike animals, though he appreciates having easily obtainable warmth when far from society.

Non-meat food offers no sustenance to him at all. However, he can still eat and digest it just fine.

Meat-based foods don't provide enough meat to keep him going, but enough of them at a time can stave off the effects of not eating for a short while.

His demonic form is large and beastlike in nature. It would not be entirely wrong to say it crawls on all fours, save that it has more than four limbs; it is a beast with no less than six clawed, lanky arms as well as its' more average number of legs (two). Its' skin is a deep. dark red, with black tribal patterns edged with gold running through the crimson. Long messy hair, the same color as Ravana's own, hangs loose down his back and dangles over his face. If it stood up, it would likely overshadow everyone it met, but as it crawls, it comes up to Dante's waist. In this form, his teeth are long, pointed and sharp, and there seems to be too many in his mouth. Despite its' inhuman attributes, the facial structure is blatantly human, and the pale eyes set into it are as distinct and aware as ever. When he wants to be scary, he shakes his hair over his eyes to conceal that normalcy. He wears white pants that Semiramis gave him, and has gold bangles on his wrists, as well as a jeweled necklace around his throat given to him as a gift long before he entered the human world.

History

Ravana comes from a small tribe of demons living in one of the coldest parts of the demon world. Despite being heavily tolerant to cold, they weren't completely immune to it, so they were adept at keeping themselves warm. Their houses were often heated enough for a regular human to live in if they stayed wrapped up - though they'd be unable to set foot outside safely.

His family was decently large, but was not particularly close as several of his siblings were from different mothers. He was closest to his mother than the rest of his family.

Theris, the area he lives in, was almost permanently night, but was lit up by an aurora that cast a bright glow over the land. This tended to tint things with odd colors.

There were many other demons in Theris outside of their tribe, and within the tribe they were universally considered prey. This gave them a reputation for being immensely dangerous and most other native Therisian demons would become hostile the moment they were recognized.

Within the tribe there were almost no rules, save that attacking another tribe member for food was forbidden except during times of immense starvation. Those who were killed by outsiders or died from accidents were freely eaten, as waste is considered fairly unacceptable.

There was a tradition in the tribe where before a demon got their proper name, they had to go off and survive alone in the frozen wilderness for three days. He got lost and turned up at home a month later, very disgruntled.

He took advantage of a breach to enter the human world, but promptly splintered off and went off on his own.

Personality

Ravana's got immense self-control and can hide his hunger worryingly well, though the weakness is more visible. Because of his promise to Semiramis, his hunger is satisfied by pursuing the worst kinds of criminals.

Though he originally joined the school to find victims among the students, he stays both because he likes Semiramis and to avoid being harassed for not being at school while appearing to be underage. He occasionally skips school if he has clues about prey, however.

While Ravana manages to pull off docility often enough, he's got a reputation throughout the school for giving off a strangely threatening sense even when not doing anything noticeably hostile or disreputable.

There's a worrying amount of people who've tried to get him alone to attack him and simply pretended he doesn't exist afterwards. Several of these refuse to even let their friends mention his name.

He's immensely tactile; if he's interested in something, he touches it constantly, and people he likes get to feel their personal bubbles invaded a lot.

Because of his demonic nature, there's a lot about humans he doesn't understand and he regularly fumbles with understanding slang. He's been known to misinterpret peoples' intentions as hostility or flirting before.

Thanks to where he lives, his tolerance for cold is immense and he finds humans complaining about the cold weather to be funny.

He loves not having to wear heavy clothing and is often a source of confusion when he turns up in snowy weather dressed for summer.

Because it's so much warmer here than where he lives, he often tends to under dress at home and visitors are likely to find him shirtless at best, sometimes just in shorts, and sometimes not even bothering to dress at all, just tossing a blanket around him to answer the door.

One of his berserk buttons is "mama's boy" jokes as his brothers constantly teased him about how far he'd go to make his mother happy.

Because demons tend to be more in-your-face a lot of the time, he's very nonchalant about people harassing, threatening or even attacking him, though he'll only hold back on reacting to the latter if people can see, which makes people mistake him for an easy mark.

This also means that he'll sometimes fail to recognize people being bullied unless they're visibly miserable over it, however, as it's perfectly normal behavior to him.

His morals are actually pretty decent, though tainted by demonic views and pragmatism. He can be kind, is protective towards the weak, and likes to make people happy, but he sees eating people as normal, violence as having nothing wrong with it if used in the right way towards the right people, and the possessions of the dead as belonging to the victor rather than the family of the deceased.

He dislikes wasted food as eating wasn't always guaranteed in Theris because their food source was other demons.

New tastes get him very curious; he wants to try everything, no matter how unpleasant he might find the taste. He's especially curious about Kane and regularly makes jokes, though most of those are intended to rile him rather than having any seriousness behind them.

He prefers bright colors to pale ones, making an exception for white as that was the most common 'outdoor clothing' color in Theris.

Lifestyle

Ravana really enjoys cooking even though he doesn't get any sustenance from the food. He likes the taste and he has fun preparing meals.

Because of his aversion to waste, he's constantly keeping up to date with food preservation tips and carries at least a couple of small containers to lend out to people who've got leftovers from lunch they don't wanna throw out.

Ravana's tribe didn't have a concept of marriage. When they wanted to breed, they'd just lay claim to whoever they wanted until they were done and then let them go. The idea of monogamy didn't exist among them, and nor did dating. It was either seduction or force. It was common for the weaker - and even some of the stronger - to have children from multiple fathers.
